As Frisco’s original music & arts school, more students have taken lessons here than anywhere else!

The Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts is the largest music and performing arts school in the city having taught over 12,000 students since we opened in the fall of 2000.

While you are here researching the best school for you, please consider the benefits of becoming a student here and find out why we are Frisco’s number one choice for music & performing arts lessons.

We are an Official Safety Plan Music School!

In order to keep our students, staff, and teachers safe, we have implemented the Family Safety Plan in our schools! This includes glass windows on lesson rooms to foster transparency between teachers and parents, full-time office staff so that students and teachers are never left unsupervised, requiring extensive background checks of all of our teachers and staff, security cameras in all rooms, and an open-door policy for parents, which means that they’re always invited to sit in on their child’s lessons.

4. A proven track record of excellence.

Over 12,000 students taught, and voted "Best in Education" by Frisco Style Magazine. Visit our testimonial  page to see what our students are saying.

Every year, aspiring teachers start their own studio, and a year or two later they're closed.

The Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts has a proven track record of offering quality lessons, year round. Our full time mission is teaching music, art and musical theatre. Learn what YOU enjoy!

We teach a wide variety of styles, from classical piano to rock and metal, sacred to modern pop and jazz music, vocals and singing, mixed media and cartoon animation/flip book art, plus musical theatre staging, blocking, choreography, sequencing and Broadway routines.

5. A comfortable waiting room for parents and family members.

Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom or a cramped skinny hallway, our families enjoy a spacious, professional waiting room with comfortable chairs, Wi-Fi, and video class monitors.

We also provide observation windows on every door so that you can watch your child's lesson and class while you wait.

Or, if you prefer, you can sit in on  lessons anytime you like (for private music students).

6. Fully stocked lesson studios.

Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for lessons, including amps, stereos, full acoustic drum kits, keyboards, pianos, mics, staging, mirrors, professional art supplies and more. Plus, teachers have an iPad in every studio to incorporate fun learning apps and sample video examples, etc. We have spent thousands of dollars on our facility to offer sound-resistant studios and observation windows.

7. Performance opportunities at each level of study.

Other schools only offer 2 shows per year?   Maybe just 1 show? Charge extra fees,  require families to purchase tickets?

Our students have the opportunity to perform in more than 24 yearly events in music, art, dance & musical theatre!

The level of confidence you get performing cannot be achieved anywhere else. Plus, preparing for a performance motivates students to work toward a goal.

MUSIC: Our beginning group music lab classes have a Group Student Performance Week for parents several times per year, and private lesson students have the option of participating in our Yearly Judged Music Show, Center Stage Music Shows, Yearly Theory Test and Musicfest.

See our Performance and Events page for details on these events.

ART, & MUSICAL THEATRE: Our students perform in three yearly Musical Theatre Variety Shows in our performing arts auditorium on campus at FriscoPAC with professional lighting, sound, video. Also students perform for parents in our Group Student Performance weeks for parents throughout the year. Student Art Gallery Shows are held three times a year for our art students. Artwork is judged by local artists with awards given in three categories

AROUND THE WORLD FAIRYTALE PRINCESS BALLET: Our princess dancers perform in the end-of-year FairyTale Princess Royal Ball, a regal display of princess costumes from around the world and traditional pre-ballet selections.

8. Professional office staff six days a week.

We have friendly and professional Office Staff who are always available at the front Desk to assist our families. We staff our Registration Desk starting at 9:00 or 10:00am through closing each day Monday through Saturdays. We return all phone inquiries as soon as possible in a friendly and courteous manner.

9. Convenient location in the "heart" of Frisco.

We are located on Preston Road, just north of Main Street on the NW corner, across from the Brinkman Ranch. With our central location, the school is convenient to Frisco residents on both the east and west sides of Preston, plus Little Elm, McKinney, Prosper, Celina, Savannah, The Colony, and Plano. Visit the location page for more details.

10. No semester requirements or long term commitments.

Although most of our students are with us for four and five years or more (earn your Five Year and Ten Year Study Trophy!), our School does not require semester minimums or yearly commitments. We plan on a year of lessons at enrollment (or start with a trial-lesson series), however if you cannot stay at the School you simply notify our Registration Desk on the first of the month and finish out that month in a positive way with your teacher.

Our performances are held on our campus at the FriscoPAC, our own performance venue right here in Frisco.

- THEORY TEST (graded event)

The teachers are great.  Each are patient and have a full understanding
about their subject and how to teach it.  Furthermore, the admin staff are just as wonderful.  My son had problems finding his niche.
They worked with us to help him find which instrument excited him.
- Patsy A.

My son is in the Thurs. group lesson for piano.
He has an exceptional teacher & has really motivated my son.
We could not be happier with the class and the teacher as well.

Heather Sayre, MS, LPC

Our son has been a student with the school for nearly 2 years and we couldn't be more pleased with his progression on the violin. We recently got to see a live performance of him and many of the other students of the school and what talent!

I was nervous about starting music classes as an adult, but the Frisco School of Music has been wonderful about making me wonderful and letting me work at a pace I am comfortable with. I would recommend them to anyone of any age for beginning or furthering music lessons.
