We are an Official Safety Plan Music School!

In order to keep our students, staff, and teachers safe, we have implemented the Family Safety Plan in our schools! This includes glass windows on lesson rooms to foster transparency between teachers and parents, full-time office staff so that students and teachers are never left unsupervised, requiring extensive background checks of all of our teachers and staff, security cameras in all rooms, and an open-door policy for parents, which means that they’re always invited to sit in on their child’s lessons.
AboutFairytale Princess Ballet:
Years ago, whenwe expanded to include preschool dance classes, the curriculum we searched forjust didn’t exist! So, I wrote Around The World Fairytale Princess Ballet;a globally inspired, story-driven ballet curriculum system for preschoolers(ages 3-6) that weaves together enchanted tales, graceful technique, andpure joy. Designed as a signature introductory series, with 48 weeklylesson plans. After seeingthe magic it sparked in our own school, we now offer this program to othermusic and dance studios to help them fill classes faster, boostregistrations and differentiate their offerings – all with the provided supportand coaching to make implementation seamless. Meet the Owner/Director

Hello! I’m Chris Duncan, NCTM,the Founder/Owner and Executive Director of the Frisco School of Music andPerforming Arts, Frisco Performing Arts Center, Frisco Best Summer Camps, andthe author and creator of the Around the World Fairytale Princess Ballet System(a complete preschool ballet curriculum for ages 3-6). Along with my businesspartner Steve South, we opened the school in 2000.I’d like to share something close to myheart. As a parent myself, I’ve faced the samechallenges you may be experiencing. When my two boys were younger, I sawfirsthand how smart and capable they were, but had too much energy, and theystruggled to stay focused in school. That’s when I discovered the transformativepower of music. My boys, like so many children, needed an outlet for theircreativity and energy, and music provided that. But at the time there wasn’t aplace that offered the variety and flexibility we were looking for, where theycould explore multiple instruments and truly find their passion. That is why in2000, we decided to create our own music and arts school – a place where kids like mine (and yours) could discover what excites them and where they could grow in confidence and skill and learn week-by-week how to give effort.
Our programs are designed not just to teach technical skills but to help children develop self-confidence, focus and leadership. We champion success by encouraging students to push their limits in a supportive, nurturing environment. From learning a new instrument to performing in front of an audience, every step of the journey helps them sine both on and off the stage.
Our motto: Our faculty at the FriscoSchool of Music and Performing Arts gives personal attention to each of our students and delivers an exceptional learning experience in a top-notchexciting performing arts school atmosphere, backed by a solid business team andprofessional administrative staff. Each part of the school works together tomake your experience at FSMPA is the best in education and customer service. We help students of all ages learn success,self-confidence and leadership through music and the performing arts. And now, we havegrown to two large buildings on our campus – welcoming over 1000 studentsthrough our doors each week for music, art, dance, musical theatre acting, andmore. Ihave over 40 years of teaching and consulting experience, have writtenseveral books and am a bestselling author on Amazon. These and otherexperiences have led me to help families choose music and arts educationfor their children and themselves. And now, we havegrown to two large buildings on our campus – welcoming over 1000 studentsthrough our doors each week for music, art, dance, musical theatre acting, andmore.

The teachers are great.  Each are patient and have a full understanding
about their subject and how to teach it.  Furthermore, the admin staff are just as wonderful.  My son had problems finding his niche.
They worked with us to help him find which instrument excited him.

My son is in the Thurs. group lesson for piano.
He has an exceptional teacher & has really motivated my son.
We could not be happier with the class and the teacher as well.

Thanks,
Heather Sayre, MS, LPC

Our son has been a student with the school for nearly 2 years and we couldn't be more pleased with his progression on the violin. We recently got to see a live performance of him and many of the other students of the school and what talent!
